A Rostock style delta bot with the parts which are typically 3D printed made from medium density fiberboard (MDF). It uses a home made hot end.

    Thanks for the pictures! I'll be watching this one.

    What do you mean by 'polyurethaned'? I assume it's to coat the MDF to keep moist out, but what kind of paint or resin are you using, and do you feel it's working well?

    Looks good. This is actually something I have been planning on doing myself, glad you beat me to the punch and saved me all that work ;). I don't have access to a 3d printer and while the

    Do you have a BOM for the non-MDF parts? Or did you just use the same components as Jonathan Keep?

    PS love the use of off-the-shelf lighting fixture components in your extruder. More please!

    I kept good records and took a ton of photos. I'll try to put a BOM up this weekend as a spreadsheet with sources, prices, part numbers, and quantities. The hardest part to find was the IP80 thread acorn nut to make the nozzle.

    Polyurethane is a clear tough coating commonly used as a top coat on wooden floors. Every paint or hardware store carries it. I rubbed on 2 coats with a soft lint free cloth. It hardens the surface and hole interiors of the MDF quite a bit.

    I posted an explanation on the reprap forum before I found this site. Search for "hardware store hot end" there. Cut and paste on the link wouldn't work for me in this web editor for some reason.

    I added a BOM to the Files section, it's pretty complete except for listing fasteners. I'll add those and more photos soon.
