Gents, I recently purchased a very cheap 3D printer on eBay, the kit is made by Geeetech, it's a reprap copy. It got me thinking that this could also be used on my future CNC project. The bad news is that can't connect it to my Mac, the software drivers just don't work, I've tried everything. I've connected it to windows computer and it does get detected so the electronics works. If anyone has ideas, please let me know? I'm now looking at buying a secondhand Windows pc! Info from Geeetech wiki page.... Thanks snokid, did some checking xPro board uses the same USB to serial converters, they are made by FTDI, this is the same for Gt2560. Has any got it to work with Mac, El Capitan?
Before you get your heart too set on reusing the GT2560, understand it is designed to push NEMA 17 steppers which may be a bit limiting on a CNC system.
Rick, very good point. Tried the bloody thing with a second hand windows 7 computer and it still doesn't work. When plugged in the computer detects it. It the drivers don't work.
