I'm struggling with engraving text on my SMW3D R7 router. Cutting shapes works great. My workflow is to create a design in Inkscape; create toolpaths in MakerCAM; and send to TinyG via Chilipeppr. I want to use a V-bit, and make single stroked lettering. The attached image shows a path which engraves around each letter. The font (in Inkscape) is called "engrave" and appears single stroked on the screen. Is there anyway to do this?

you just need to google for some single stroke fonts, they are out there.

just keep in mind that you do not install fonts into the cad software, you install them into Windows!

Thanks - this is huge help for what I've been struggling with. I would have never found this on my own.

Not yet. I've bookmarked your link and will play with it some, when I get a recent routing job caught up.
