It is possible, but you'll have to make custom end mount

    Lower cost.

The main issue is verifying that you can mount the lead nut to the plate and have the mounted assembly fit into the limited amount of space inside the track. You will need to custom machine some of the parts to achieve this. DumpsterCNC is a good source of information on the potential size of the fittings.

    Ok thx
I think the 250mm and 500mm 8mm acme is good
But the 8mm x 1000mm acme is to soft
So I want to check the 12mm

    Hi.

Did you find the 12mm x 1000mm Lead Screw ?
I'm looking for a 4 start one (nut move 8mm per turn) but can't find them at a reasonnable price !
Very strange they sell 1m long 8mm screw witch is very soft, but hardly sell 1m long 12mm !

Any advice or seller on Ebay or bangood ?

Are you using the 1000mm TR-8's in tension? i see many people do them in compression when tension is much better.
It is a matter of using the collar on the outer end instead of inner ends, but you might not have length to do so.

I need tension but also compression (actually the compression is more than the tension).

I have no way to do something else. I have a lot of compression when the screw is driven at on end and the nut at the other end, 1m far away ! So of course it tends to do something like this : (I don't know how it's called in english, maybe buckle, flambage in french)

what I am referring to is where are your collars on the rods? are they on the inside of the bearings blocks (always the rod is acting in compression) or the outside (always in tension)

You might think I'm using the screw as normal use for 3D printer but I'm not.

I'm using it to open and close a window, so I'm using it as to make a cylinder

Ok! yes you need a bigger screw for side and compression load then! I work with some big ones at work :)
An option would be to use springs to keep the compression off the actuator..

Yes but the most compression needed is at the end when the distance is the biggest when the spring would be almost free !

Any idea if it's possible to find some 12mm screw with8mm move per turn ? I found some but with only 2mm move per turn !
