Hi , im keen to make some architectural models amongst other things,
bought this cnc machine from the guy who made it
it makes a bit too much noise for me until i build a shed and get a quieter spindle
also from looking at these forums i see that my machine has some problems and also 3d printers seem like they can do what i want without the noise
At some point id like to get a better cnc going and though this machine hasn't got that much i can reuse so maybe it would be okay as 3d printer?
on another thread i asked if i could reuse electrics and realised that it would be much simpler to get some new stuff

so my plan is get- ramps board, drivers etc, heatbed, direct extruder, end stops, lcd
and try to reuse atx power supply?

can the standard ramps electronics run these nema 24 okay?

will my MDF z axis, or bed axis catch on fire?

will lead screws be too slow ? or possible to callibrate with standard software

Alternative to buying these parts i could just buy a machine but not cashed up

    cheers in advance
    ben

    problems with my machine-
bed is bowed- but y rail itself is okay
difficult to adjust bearings to rail gap
guy who made machine used a design then built it bigger without re engineering it
fair bit of play in machine - suprised that has been able to cut anything- usually cut quite slow, small increments
    noisey

    good things-
    lead screws, nema 24
came with computer and cnc software all set up
