I've started designing a ~500mm cube coreXY 3d printer. The corner in the render has 18 m5 bolts and 16 t nuts, and I was thinking of adding a plate to the right with another with another 4-6. Is this way overkill or what?

Doesn't look like overkill to me, plates are metal I presume?

Yes, 4.1mm aluminum. I'll keep designing as is for now. Might have to buy another bag of tnuts.

Always handy to have some 8mm screws and t-nuts at hand that's for sure ;).
