Is it possible to use nested extrusions?

I've been lurking around here for awhile and I had a question I couldn't find an answer to. I am looking to build a new CNC router since I've outgrown my 2' x 2'. I'm planning to build a 1.5m x 1.5m and my main concern right now is the X axis beam. I was thinking I could make an I beam with a couple 80x20s and a pair of C beams. It would be easier than a flitch type beam since it is essentially self aligning and there would be no need to drill and tap into the extrusion. Is it possible to nest extrusions as shown in these photos or are the tolerances such that the fit would be too tight?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards,
