    Hello ,

    I will shortly buy a OX kit (1500x1500) from www.vslot-europe.com ( since I`m living in Europe ).

I am currently 3D modelling in Rhino for Mac. I do not have any form of G-code software.

I have three questions regarding preparations for this build:

    1. I have downloaded two softwares on my iMac just out of curiosity to see how they look:

    Grbl Controller 3.5
    UniversalGcodeSender

    - Will these softwares preform well on a macbook ( late 2006 ) with following specs?

    Processor : 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    L2 cache : 4MB shared
    System bus : 667MHz
    Memory : 3GB ( 2x2GB memory installed : can only deliver 3GB on this macbook )
    Hard drive : 120GB Serial ATA; 5400-rpm
    2. What type of G-code software do you use / recommend ( I would prefer freeware or low budget ones ... )?

    3. I will use my CNC machine to cut wood ( plywood ), but also getting a knife router bit so I can cut shapes in 2.5mm thick cardboard. What type of router/spindle is used / recommended for cutting wood ( mostly plywood, mdf + installing a knife router bit for cutting cardboard )?
