    I thought I could use this on a Kress spindle, because although it is variable, you would have to reach across to adjust the unit on the fly. But I heard the guy say it wouldn't work with a soft start unit, which a Kress is meant to be, in the right up. Although I haven't heard what I would call a "slow start" in the You-Tube vids.

    (Perhaps not so necessary for a small diameter router bit but ‘soft start’ is much kinder to the motors brushes / windings on higher mass cutters such as ‘disc’, ‘angle grinders’ etc.).

    @GrayUK I would not worry too much about having to change the speed adjustment on the fly, as you would normally set the speed for the material type your cutting before starting the cut.
    It is nice to have the ability to adjust on the fly for the initial 'finding' of the right speeds and feeds for the material type though.
