WOW!! This is impressive and the use of the 2040 locking into the C beam in the corners is a unique technique. I now have ANOTHER reason to buy some C Beams - as if I needed another. :)

    Bravo!

Looks very nice. Although my importing of the Sketchup file into DSM resulted in a unwieldy drawing.

I found that using the trace parts catalog in DSM resulted in a better more workable file.

With your upgrades, are the belts still strong and accurate enough or will you be switching to acme or ball screws?

I would like to add screws but cant afford to right now, so Ill be staying with the belts

I have not upgraded the Motors or the Spindle so there should be no added stress on the belts compared to before the hardware upgrade, it only looks like there should be :), the difference will be in accuracy, vibration and flexing of the frame (All reduced), right now my CNC room is sitting at -11 deg C and has been dipping to -25 deg C so not been out there working on it lol. As soon as it warms a bit I will be out there though so stay tuned

I'm with you on the added cost to go to screws, I'm wondering how your accuracy compares with other screw driven machines as I figure out what I'm going to build

Hi Very great build and do think it's the best used of c-beam too. Perhaps for an upgrade.. have you plan to perhaps move the 2 inner wheel more closer to the belt pulley ? Or to give a bit space and place 2 pulley to apply over the belt pignon..

I am planning on a new X gantry plate that may include extending the wheels across to the 40x20 beam which should be upgraded to a 60x20 for hat very reason

Do you think there's also a need to upgrade to a C 80x40 over the x too... or just a 60x20 will be enought ?
