    Hey Tweakie.
Was it you who made the Acrylic 2 colour sign, "Apple Bottom Beauty".
I seem to think it was you. Anyway, either way, a question or two.
I noticed that the two colours never overlapped. Was this intentional, but more important, if you were working with say, Yellow and Blue, do you think you could have got a Green bleed on an overlap?
If you had a sign, say, 300mm x 200mm with a Logo at each side, would you be able to light each Logo with a different colour? Or would there be too much horizontal bleed to either side?

    Subject to the previous questions:
I'm toying with idea of, say, 4 x 3mm Acrylic sheets, each with an engraving. In the base, a holder which will hold 1mm Fibre Optic filaments in a row, beneath each sheet of Acrylic. Each fed with a different coloured LED.

Would the Fibre Optics be able to transmit enough light, to light the sign, and, would I be able to use LEDs to generate enough light, to light the engravings.
Providing I make sure the lengths of Fibre Optics are sealed against light bleed, and I use, say, Black tape at the bottom, to separate the light from each sheet, do you think it feasible?

    Cheers

    Hi Gray,

    Not my video.
Yes, I think your idea is feasible but like most things a bit of experimentation may be necessary to get it just right. Could be a very stunning effect though.

Why not just incorporate 2 RGB led strips into the base under each piece of Acrylic? I've seen quite a few business signs made this way. With RGB strips you could light each piece of acrylic whatever color desired.

I was thinking of using something like a Christmas tree lights controller, (better rush out and buy a few in the sales!), and say, engraving a part of a waterfall on each sheet, and creating a cascading effect across the sheets, or something similar.
Or any number of effects, if it works!

That sounds interesting - I would very much like to see the results.
