Hi out there. Does anyone have a spare set of plates for the OX cnc. I'm located in Ontario Canada.

This is an excellent build all around. There is nothing lacking in both the mechanical and the instructions and the files presented in this build.

This build will be my guide after I finish my current build using 8020 extrusions. It's a 4'x5' cnc router. I'll be using this machine to make the plates for my built. I really like the idea of having a larger machine for those larger projects and a smaller machine for those smalled projects.

    Thanks for all you've done.

Looking at buying one of these kits in the next few days from ooznest, would it be possible to use 2060 spoiler supports to get an extra 20mm of depth on the Z axis?

    Regards

Yes this shouldn't be a problem. Just a few things to be aware of.

    - You will need to have two spoiler board supports running down the right and left side.
    - To secure the spoiler board this will only be possible to the spoiler board supports, unless you use some L-Brackets at the font and back.
    - Every time you cut something which doesn't take advantage of the extra z height, the z-axis will have to extend down a further 20mm than needed. This will increase the length of the lever arm.

The only modification needed to make this change, is to change the extrusion. The mounting hardware would be the same.

A couple of pictures of what our completed OX looks like. Our OX uses a CNC xPRO (Thanks Mike!) and a brushless 400w spindle controlled by the xPro.

We will be updating the build soon with a list of parts to complete the electronics, as well as stl's for all the mounts used.

If your in the UK, we use this one here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121634639622?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

It includes the spindle, psu, controller, and a mount. The holes on the mount don't really align with anything on the OX, nor any standard plates. We opted to use the openbuilds router mount with a 3d printed spacer.

Thanks, the plates are due to arrive this week. So you should receive yours towards the end of the week.

    Thanks Ryan.

You can on/off and control the speed of the spindle with Grbl?

Yup. Use M3 SX (Where X is your rpm). For the spindle above, full power would be M3 S12000.

Can I get the specs for the included steppers in your kit? More specifically, I need the current rating so I can order the correct resistors.

I just put in an order for the full kit. Can't wait to start my first CNC. Still a ton of research to do and a few parts to order.

Nice! I have attached the dxf files for them two parts. Sorry i am not sure what you mean by the cutting height? do you mean the insets for the 688zz bearings?

    Thanks for the kind words.

With a 200mm z-axis extrusion, the max z travel is 69mm, so about 49mm with a spoiler board.

The holes on the plate designs are exactly 5.00mm, we get them manufactured to 0.03mm tolerance, so there is some interference between the bolt and plate, but they still go through freely. If your making them yourself you may want to make the holes slightly bigger.
